After she finished reading The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, Caddie passed it along to me…and I’m glad she did. I finished reading it yesterday and Oscar Wao is easily among my favorite books. I’d read Drown, Junot DÃaz’s first book, ages ago and really liked it – but Oscar Wao is a whole new level for him.
The book is pretty heavy on the Tolkein/etc references, but that shouldn’t scare you away.
