Our friend & colleague Karen Yung is spending a few months in New Zealand and Australia. Karen just recently made the jump from NZ to Byron Bay, Australia, where she came across Sea Surfboards. Wow. Up until just now there was a special place in my heart for Gato Heroi boards. That special place just got a little crowded. It took all of a few seconds on the Sea Surfboards site to fall in love. Based solely on what I’m seeing online I think I have a new favorite line of boards.

Not to be confused with “Caddie vs. the surfboard.”
Re: Dad FW: The Whale

My Dad just sent along a pretty amazing story about a rescued whale off of the Farallones. To think that whales are actually still hunted in Norway, Japan, and elsewhere is pretty disgusting. A few years ago my Dad and I cancelled a then-dream-trip to Iceland over their resumption of whaling. The Icelandic Tourist Board’s response to my e-mail just angered me further. Iceland has since suspended its whaling quotas, but whether or not that’s a permanent move is highly questionable. Regardless, the killing continues elsewhere.
