We finally finished “Wild Thoughts from Wild Places.” It took a little while, what with the two page increments that it was read in. Five on a big night. That one was so much fun we’ve moved onto another David Quammen book, “The Boilerplate Rhino.” So far it’s going well, outside of the chapter on trilobites. That was not well received by Eleanor. I’m reading a little to Trucker most nights. We generally make it through five to ten pages before sleep. Caddie lasts about two. Trucker’s first is “Wild Thoughts from Wild Places,” by one of my short-list favorites; David Quammen. Oscar Wao

After she finished reading The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, Caddie passed it along to me…and I’m glad she did. I finished reading it yesterday and Oscar Wao is easily among my favorite books. I’d read Drown, Junot DÃaz’s first book, ages ago and really liked it – but Oscar Wao is a whole new level for him.
