On my Mom’s side of the family the first Sunday is August is when we celebrate my grandfather’s birthday. It is always celebrated at Saquish, and it is always sunny (except for that one time). This year those of us in California gathered at San Onofre on the first Sunday in August to celebrate “Ed West.”
